What are you currently working on?

I’m working on a feature launch, which aims to position AYLIEN as the leader in entity-based search. After that, I’ll be helping Mike, Parsa, and Andrew develop further go-to-market strategies.

Do you believe in aliens and/or ghosts? Explain your reason(s).

I believe that there is other life out there, purely due to scale. I don't know about ghosts. I don't think so. I'm not sure if I'd want them to, unless they're happy with it.

Top tips for staying sane during the pandemic?

I'm conscious I have a very easy life, and very few commitments, so don't want to preach. But a daily walk, cutting down on junk food, reading every day, and keeping busy with hobbies has kept me as sane as I'll ever be.

What's the best thing about working at AYLIEN?

Of course, the people. But I also like how responsible the company is. I trust the leadership. Other than that I like the look on James's face when he gets the scent of free beer.

Dessert or Cheesboard?

Cheese.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

At the age of 5: a bin lorry. At the age of 7: Jimi Hendrix. At the age of 17: I didn't think about that. At the age of 22: nothing. At the age of 33: 22.

Have you started a new hobby or interest during the pandemic?

No, but think I understand what compression does to an audio track now. Kind of.

What would you choose for your last meal?

That's...pretty dark. But if I can summon the strength to chew and still have my teeth, I'd say a decent liver and bacon casserole with fried onions, and chips (and sure why not, a bit of mash. YOLO). I've recently stopped eating meat, but if it's my last meal...Maybe I'll go over the top with a battered sausage in there too. And some mushy peas. With loads and loads of gravy.

What is one thing your fellow AYLIENs don't know about you?

I'm pretty sure I've chattered so much that you all know more than enough about me.

Your favourite holiday destination so far?

Rome 2012 or the Isle of Skye 1997.
